🏅 Pokémon League & Gym Guide
The one-line version: find Professor Oak on Mt. Moon (
ice_dun03), get the Poké Flute, then beat the 8 Gym Leaders scattered across the world. Eight badges wake the Snorlax blocking Victory Road, and past it wait the Elite Four, the Champion, and two rivals stronger than any of them.Every Leader you beat hands you a badge and a TM — a move you can teach one of your own Pokémon. See the Companion System Guide for raising the Pokémon you will be bringing.
⚠️ Run the patcher before you start. The gym maps, the Leaders' sprites and the badge and TM artwork all arrive through it. A client that has not patched cannot draw them.
⚔️ How a gym battle actually works
This is not a pet battle. You fight the Leader's Pokémon yourself, as real monsters, with your own character.
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Where | You talk to the Leader out in the world; they warp you into their own gym map |
| How many at a time | One challenger per gym. If someone is already inside you are told to wait |
| Time limit | 15 minutes. Run out and you are warped back to the town outside |
| If you die | The Leader announces it and you are warped out. Nothing is lost but the attempt |
| Escape | Gym maps are no-teleport, no-Warp-Portal, no-Butterfly-Wing. You leave by winning, losing, or the clock |
| Retry | Free and unlimited — until you claim the badge. After that the Leader will not let you back in |
| Leftovers | Any Pokémon still alive from a previous attempt is cleared when the next challenger enters |
Leaders send their Pokémon out in waves. Most send one at a time — beat it and the next appears immediately. Two of them do it differently:
- Blaine throws all three out at once and only pays up when every one of them is down.
- Giovanni sends three singly, then finishes with two at the same time.
Leaders also reinforce their Pokémon above the normal wild versions, and the bonus grows with their rank — from +11,000 HP each for Sabrina up to +35,000 HP each for Blue, with matching attack.
🚦 Where to start
Professor Oak stands on Mt. Moon — the map is ice_dun03, and he is the NPC marked MT.MOON at the entrance. He explains the League and starts the chain.
Your first errand is the Poké Flute. The Flute Maker is in Geffen Field 03 (gef_fild03) — the same field where the sleeping Snorlax lies. He wants:
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Piece of Bamboo | 100 |
| Steel | 50 |
| Oridecon | 15 |
| Elunium | 15 |
You will not need the Flute until the very end, but the quest opens the chain, so pick it up early.
💡 Playing the Flute at the wrong moment is safe — you get it straight back. And if you lose it some other way (dropped, sold, traded), go back to the Flute Maker and he will carve you a replacement free. You cannot lock yourself out of Victory Road.
Everything is tracked in your quest window (Alt+U) under "Pokémon League" — 30 entries, from the Poké Flute through to defeat Red. If you lose your place, that list is the answer.
🧰 The Badge Case
You do not have to dig through your inventory to see how far along you are. A Badge Case stands next to Brock in Prontera, with a second one in the Trophy Room for Champions.
[ League Badge Case ]
--------------------------------------
[*] Boulder Badge
Brock - Prontera
[*] Cascade Badge
Misty - Comodo Field 04
[ ] Thunder Badge
Lt. Surge - Geffen
[ ] Rainbow Badge
Erika - Payon Field 04
...
--------------------------------------
Earned 2 of 8
The case will not close while a hollow is empty.
Filled hollows show in green, empty ones greyed out, each with the Leader and the town. Click any badge to read what it looks like and who hands it over, and the case will walk you through what the badges are for.
🥊 The eight gyms
Each Leader stands out in the world. Talk to them there and they warp you into their gym map. Beat them and you keep the badge permanently — badges are account-bound, so they can never be traded, sold or dropped.
| # | Leader | Find them at | Badge | TM | Also |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brock | Prontera (121, 181) | 🪨 Boulder Badge | Earth Spike | — |
| 2 | Misty | Comodo Field 04 (255, 85) | 💧 Cascade Badge | Frost Diver | Move Set 3 |
| 3 | Lt. Surge | Geffen (91, 202) | ⚡ Thunder Badge | Jupitel Thunder | — |
| 4 | Erika | Payon Field 04 (230, 237) | 🌈 Rainbow Badge | Wind Blade | 40,000z |
| 5 | Koga | Umbala (170, 147) | ☠️ Soul Badge | Envenom | Move Set 4, 50,000z, Poison Bottle |
| 6 | Sabrina | Juperos (80, 71) | 🔮 Marsh Badge | Soul Strike | — |
| 7 | Blaine | Magma Dungeon (66, 213) | 🌋 Volcano Badge | Crimson Fire Petal | 100,000 base & job exp |
| 8 | Giovanni | Juperos Core (150, 131) | 🌍 Earth Badge | Spiral Pierce | Move Set 5 |
💡 The badge is account-bound; the TM is not. You can hand a spare TM to a friend or sell it. You cannot hand over a badge.
⚠️ The zeny and exp are leftovers from the pack this system came from and are tiny on this server — 100,000 exp is a rounding error next to a level past 99. Treat the badge and the TM as the real reward.
Who they field
→ means one after another. + means at the same time.
| # | Leader | Team | Total HP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brock | Geodude Lv40 → Onix Lv75 | 120,000 |
| 2 | Misty | Staryu Lv45 → Starmie Lv99 | 262,000 |
| 3 | Lt. Surge | Raichu Lv99 | 250,000 |
| 4 | Erika | Ivysaur Lv75 → Vileplume Lv99 | 310,000 |
| 5 | Koga | Weezing Lv99 | 250,000 |
| 6 | Sabrina | Gastly Lv45 → Haunter Lv75 → Alakazam Lv99 | 322,000 |
| 7 | Blaine | Charmander Lv45 + Charmeleon Lv75 + Charizard Lv99 | 322,000 |
| 8 | Giovanni | Pidgeotto Lv75 → Ninetales Lv99 → Nidoking Lv99 → Persian Lv75 + Nidoqueen Lv99 | 870,000 |
📀 TMs — teaching your Pokémon a move
A TM is a one-use item that teaches one move to one Pokémon, permanently.
⚠️ It is not Professor Oak who teaches it. Take the TM to the Pokemon Professor in Prontera (146, 190) — the same NPC who handles power-ups and egg transfers — and have the Pokémon you want taught out with you, then pick "Teach a move from a TM". Professor Oak on Mt. Moon runs the League itself; he does not touch TMs.
He will only offer you TMs that the Pokémon in front of him can actually learn, and he tells you the level and the cast chance before anything is consumed.
Not every Pokémon can learn every TM. Each TM is tied to an element, and only Pokémon of that element may learn it. Spiral Pierce is the wildcard — any Pokémon can learn it, which is why it is the last one you earn.
| # | TM | Teaches | Max level | Who can learn it | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Earth Spike | WZ_EARTHSPIKE |
5 | Earth | Brock |
| 2 | Frost Diver | MG_FROSTDIVER |
10 | Water | Misty |
| 3 | Jupitel Thunder | WZ_JUPITEL |
10 | Wind | Lt. Surge |
| 4 | Wind Blade | NJ_HUUJIN |
10 | Wind | Erika |
| 5 | Envenom | TF_POISON |
10 | Poison | Koga |
| 6 | Soul Strike | MG_SOULSTRIKE |
10 | Ghost | Sabrina |
| 7 | Crimson Fire Petal | NJ_KOUENKA |
10 | Fire | Blaine |
| 8 | Spiral Pierce | LK_SPIRALPIERCE |
5 | Any Pokémon | Giovanni |
⚠️ Taught moves are PvE only. A Pokémon cannot damage a player, a guardian or the Emperium — that is a hard rule of the game engine, not a setting. Your Pokémon will keep casting in WoE and PvP; it simply will not hurt anyone. Plan TMs around hunting and MVPs.
😴 Victory Road and the Snorlax
A Snorlax is asleep across the road in Geffen Field 03 (gef_fild03), and nothing gets past it. It wants all eight badges — the guard checks for every one, so seven will not do.
Show up with the full set and the Poké Flute and Snorlax wakes, grumbles, and moves. It is a Lv120, 800,000 HP wall in its own right.
Behind it is Victory Road, and at the end of Victory Road, the Indigo Plateau.
👑 The Elite Four
The Plateau is a gauntlet: four chambers back to back, each with its own portal to the next. There is no shop between them and the chambers are no-teleport, no-warp, no-Butterfly-Wing — once you start, you finish or you walk out.
| Order | Opponent | Team | Total HP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lorelei | Slowking Lv99 → Cloyster Lv75 → Dewgong Lv99 | 560,000 |
| 2 | Bruno | Hitmonchan Lv45 → Golem Lv99 → Machamp Lv99 | 512,000 |
| 3 | Agatha | Arbok Lv99 → Golbat Lv75 → Gengar Lv99 | 560,000 |
| 4 | Lance | Dragonair Lv75 → Aerodactyl Lv99 → Dragonite Lv120 | 1,110,000 |
Beat all four and Lance hands you the League Champion Trophy in the Trophy Room — and tells you about two trainers who beat the whole League before you.
🔥 Blue and Red
| Step | Where | Team | Total HP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue | the Sacred Road (r_road) |
Arcanine → Venusaur → Pidgeot → Alakazam → Blastoise | 1,250,000 |
| Red | top of Mt. Silver, from Thor Volcano | Pikachu → Blastoise → Venusaur → Charizard → Snorlax Lv120 | 1,610,000 |
Beating Red is the last entry in the quest chain, and he holds Mewtwo's Relic.

| Step | Total HP |
|---|---|
| 1 Brock | 120,000 |
| 3 Lt. Surge / 5 Koga | 250,000 |
| 2 Misty | 262,000 |

| E4 Lance | 1,110,000 |
| Champion Blue | 1,250,000 |

🪙 Activity Coins & the Champion's costume
Once you are a Champion the League stays open, and it starts paying.
| Source | Reward |
|---|---|
| Re-clearing the Elite Four (once per day) | 15 Activity Coins |
| Beating a roaming Trainer | 5 Activity Coins + 10% of your next base and job level as exp |
Roaming Trainers wander the fields — the biggest cluster is in Geffen Field 02, with more in Prontera Field 01 and Payon Field 01 — and each one warps to a new spot after every fight. Every win is also counted on the Trainer ladder.
The League Quartermaster stands beside Lance in the Trophy Room and sells exactly one thing, for coins and nothing else:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| 👑 Costume Protect Of Crown | 200 Activity Coins |
It is account-bound on purchase — proof of the title, not merchandise.

❓ Quick answers
Is this player versus monster, or pet versus pet? Player versus monster. The Leader is an NPC; their Pokémon are real monsters and you fight them with your own character. Your own Pokémon helps the way it always does.
Do I need a strong Pokémon, or a strong character? Both matter, but you do the damage. Bring a Companion you have actually raised — see the IV Guide before you sink shards into one.
I beat a Leader but got no badge. Check your quest window. Each Leader has a find step and a defeat step; if the find step is still open you spoke to the overworld copy but never finished the gym fight.
Can I redo a gym? You can retry as often as you like until you claim the badge. After that the Leader turns you away. The Elite Four is the part that repeats — once per day — and that is where the coins come from.
The gym says someone else is inside. Only one challenger per gym at a time. If the person inside disconnects the room frees itself immediately.
My badge or TM has no name in my inventory. Your client is out of date — run the patcher and let it finish before logging in.
Can I do the League on a second character? The badges are tracked per account for seven of the eight Leaders, so an alt will find them already beaten. The League is meant to be finished once per account.
